Purpose

When I first started writing, I did not know how powerful my words could be and that my ability to write was significant and would cause an immediate shift in policy in the workplace, even if done anonymously, could spark effective change in how service providers responded and inspire change all around and for the better. I also noticed that my writing could not only inspire change for the better in the lives of others but also help me mentally, so I started journaling and then blogging.

Some years later, I got a vision for a website that I wanted to bring to life, but technology then was not as it is today, so I would have to lean on someone who had the skillset for building websites, and that would cost thousands of dollars which I did not have to spend on building a website. I then thought I would do it little by little but quickly recognized that no one could bring even the slightest piece of my vision to reality, so I knew it was my journey alone. I remember saying to God, well, if it’s my journey, then I know before long, you will present the tools to allow me to do it myself since I don’t see you leading me to become a web designer. That was 15 years ago when I was inspired to build a website like this. as you know, technology has changed all our lives, and the tools to bring websites to reality have been released for those without formal training in this area. Through those years,  my vision grew, and my skills improved.

The moral of this story is sometimes the vision is not yet for the moment but for an appointed time, and more than likely, there are experiences you need to have, things you need to learn such as patience, believing, and holding onto the vision you have, while at the same time, there is the sharpening of skills, insight, and foresight that need to be developed in you before the full vision can be realized.

I’ll tell anyone, start wherever you are today, the work that needs to be done to bring the vision into reality; delay does not mean denial, and don’t be afraid to fail or be afraid of the critics; after all, they are watching so it must be something intriguing about you.

Peace be with you and may the grace of God remain upon you.

2 Corinthians 9: “And He said unto me, my strength is made perfect in weakness.” I encourage you to read this scripture in its entirety.
