Because He Cares…

In Psalms 55:22, we read, “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” God is concerned about all that pertains to me and you; He cares about each and every one of us individually. Even the tiniest things we think may be meaningless to Him, He does care about.

Today, I was reminded to write this testimony, which I shared with a saleswoman in the store during a recent shopping trip. My father had recently passed away, and I was mourning the loss of his presence. I had heard about an upcoming comedy show that I felt would help me in my own recovery, as I was feeling somewhat depressed. I thought it would be a good idea to buy myself a new outfit for the show, and I had a visual in my mind of a specific pair of pants I wanted to purchase on my shopping trip. The pants were the key to bringing the outfit together and would go perfectly with anything else I decided to wear with them. I made a list of stores I would visit in search of my outfit. Upon arrival at the first store, I was not looking for the pants for more than five minutes before I spotted them on the sales rack.  Two pairs of pants remained, but only one was my size. I thought to myself, God, I’m just going to fall on the floor if I can fit these pants, and sure enough, I fit one of the pairs.

I have always believed that God cares about things big and small, and on this day, He reminded me not to forget this. I say to anyone reading this story that it is not about the pair of pants that will undoubtedly be put away and remain unworn again for a very long time. This is about a God who is omnipresent and knows all things; He cares about how you feel and what you are going through, and He wants to be in your life. Though He may not take away the pain you’re feeling or remove the struggles, allow Him to comfort you no matter what you’re going through. If you do not have a relationship with God, today is a good day to begin working to have a relationship with Him, accepting the salvation of Jesus Christ, praying, and reading His word.

Today, allow God to direct your path in everything you do, allow Him to go with you through the storms of life, and never ever forget—He is God!

Stay blessed.
